The enthusiasm of hundreds of residents together with the Coastal Modern Fishermen Community (KNMP) filled the coastal area of ​​South Leato Village, Gorontalo City, Saturday (9/5/2026). They are awaiting the arrival of the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, who is scheduled to inaugurate the Red and White Fishing Village National Strategic Program.Since morning, the location has been bustling with people from all walks of life. Coastal residents, fishermen, and their families were seen gathering enthusiastically, marking this moment as a significant event for the future of the coastal area.One of the residents of South Leato who migrated to Lalantu expressed his feelings of emotion and pride at the President's arrival."Oh, I'm so happy, delighted, and proud that Mr. Prabowo has come to South Leato. It's been very beneficial for us, especially for our husbands who are fishermen. Now it's no longer difficult to sell fish because this fishing village exists," she said.He also conveyed his hopes directly to the President."Thank you very much for this program. It's very useful for fishermen here, so they no longer have to struggle to find a place to sell their fish," he added.On the other hand, voices from fishermen also highlighted high hopes for the program's sustainability. Hajir Buhungo, a coastal fisherman, viewed the President's presence as a crucial opportunity to address the various issues facing fishermen."We hope the President's presence will truly explain the function and benefits of this fishing village to the community. Many still don't fully understand this program," he said.He also added a number of important aspirations."We're asking for more attention for fishermen, especially regarding fuel, which remains a major obstacle. Furthermore, we hope to have a direct dialogue with the President so that our concerns can be conveyed without intermediaries," he stressed.Behind the high enthusiasm of the residents, the Gorontalo City Government played a central role in ensuring the readiness of the location and the smooth running of the agenda.
