The Gorontalo City Government used the beginning of 2026 to hold a coordination and evaluation meeting (Rakorev) on governance, development and community affairs, Friday (2/1/2026).The coordination and evaluation meeting was led by Gorontalo Mayor Adhan Dambea, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Indra Gobel and Regional Secretary Ismail Madjid. Participants included echelon IV officials and functional officials (Jafung).During the meeting, Mayor Adhan spoke extensively about how the apparatus operates. He emphasized that since his inauguration, his benchmark has remained the same: performance. It's not about proximity or political considerations."I've said from the start that what I'm looking for is work. It's not political considerations, it's not likes or dislikes," said Mayor Adhan.He admits that not everyone is happy with his leadership style. However, this doesn't influence his decisions. He believes that anyone who performs well will remain in office. On the other hand, those who are only busy seeking attention without clear work results, sooner or later will be seen."I don't want to see people trying to gain attention. I like people who actually work," he said.Mayor Adhan also addressed the habits of some officials, who he deemed lacked focus on their duties. He urged everyone to return to their respective responsibilities. In today's era, he said, public reports, social media, and even internal chat groups make every move easy to monitor."This town is small. Now, everything is known quickly," he said.Particular attention was paid to the implementation of the performance-based TPP system. Adhan requested that all regional government agencies (OPDs) thoroughly understand the existing mechanisms. This system, according to him, was created to encourage officials to actively demonstrate daily work results, not just by showing up and filling out attendance sheets."If we don't understand, it's not me who will suffer, but ourselves," said Mayor Adhan.He reiterated the simple principle that he had long emphasized: that in one day there should be at least one job that can be accounted for. With the current system in place, the excuse of not working is no longer relevant."I only ask for one day and one clear work," he said.Concluding his remarks, Mayor Adhan reminded everyone about discipline and responsibility. He emphasized that working diligently will bring rewards. On the other hand, if you are negligent, you must also accept the consequences."If you do good work, you'll definitely get a reward. If not, don't sue," Mayor Adhan concluded.
