The National Alms Agency (BAZNAS) of Gorontalo City distributed aid in the form of basic necessities for converts to Islam, Tuesday (21/1/2026).According to Moh. Husain Rauf, Head of the Gorontalo City BAZNAS, the aid distributed is a follow-up activity, or phase II, implemented by his agency. He explained that phase I was implemented at the end of last year."In the first phase, aid was distributed to 541 converts across the districts of South Kota, Dungingi, Sipatana, Dumbo Raya, and Hulonthalangi. In the second phase, we distributed aid to converts in the districts of North Kota, West Kota, East Kota, and Central Kota. In this second phase, we also distributed aid to converts not covered in the previous phase," explained Husain.He added that the distribution of basic food aid is a routine program run by the Gorontalo City BAZNAS. Husain explained that it's called the Asnaf Mualaf program."This time, we are carrying out the activity in order to commemorate the 25th anniversary of BAZNAS in conjunction with the commemoration of Isra Mi'raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1447 Hijriah," continued Husain.The basic food aid received included rice, cooking oil, granulated sugar, coffee, milk, and canned fish. Interestingly, in addition to the basic food items, recipients also received transportation reimbursement.
