As the New Year approaches, the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) conducted a raid on social ills (Pekat) on Saturday (19/12/2025) evening, at a number of points in the Gorontalo City area. During the raid, officers discovered two unmarried couples in a boarding house. One couple was apprehended in a boarding house in Libuo Village, Dungingi District. The woman who was with the man, showed resistance and emotion when they were about to be taken to the Gorontalo City Satpol PP Command Headquarters for the data collection process. However, with the communication established by the officers in a humane manner, both of them finally agreed to take part in the data collection process.Meanwhile, another couple was found in a separate boarding room. Both were apprehended without resistance and taken directly to the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP) headquarters with the first couple.Apart from targeting boarding houses, officers also checked a number of stalls they visited during the raid. Two 600-milliliter plastic bottles containing Cap Tikus, a fermented liquor, were found at one of the stalls. The evidence was immediately confiscated. This raid was carried out as an effort to maintain public order and prevent potential security disturbances and social ills ahead of the New Year's Eve celebrations. All non-mahram couples along with evidence of alcohol were then taken to the Gorontalo City Satpol PP Headquarters for further handling in accordance with applicable regulations.
