The Mayor of Gorontalo, Adhan Dambea, officially released the Prospective Hajj Pilgrims (JCH) who are members of the Republic of Indonesia Civil Servant Corps (Korpri) of Gorontalo City to perform the Hajj pilgrimage in 1447 Hijri/2026. The activity took place at Bandhayo Lo Yiladia, Wednesday (6/5/2026).The send-off ceremony was also attended by the Regional Secretary of Gorontalo City, Ismail Madjid as Chairman of the Korpri Management Board, heads of regional apparatus, sub-district heads, heads of sections, Chair of the Dharma Wanita Persatuan of Gorontalo City, as well as the ranks of Korpri management and prospective Hajj pilgrims.In his speech, Mayor Adhan congratulated the pilgrims who had the opportunity to go to the Holy Land this year. He emphasized that the opportunity to perform the Hajj pilgrimage is a special calling that not many people have."This opportunity is a choice from Allah SWT. Many have been waiting, but you were chosen to go this year," he said.He reminded that the Hajj pilgrimage is not just an ordinary journey, but a form of devotion and complete submission to Allah SWT. Therefore, all congregations are asked to make the best use of this opportunity.Mayor Adhan also emphasized the importance of maintaining good behavior while in the Holy Land, regardless of position or social status. According to him, all people have the same position before Allah SWT."There are no more positions, ranks, or wealth. Everyone is equal; the only difference is piety," he said.In addition, he corrected the assumption that the Hajj pilgrimage can only be performed by those who can afford it. According to him, many people can go on the Hajj by saving for a long time.In his direction, Mayor Adhan also appealed to the congregation to comply with all applicable rules while in Saudi Arabia, including being wise in using cell phones so as not to disturb the solemnity of worship.He also asked the congregation to pray for Gorontalo City to be protected from various disasters, such as fires, floods, and other social problems."Please pray for our region to always be under the protection of Allah SWT and kept away from disasters," he said.Mayor Adhan hopes that all pilgrims will be given good health during their journey until they return to their homeland, and will achieve the status of accepted Hajj. He also reminded people of the importance of maintaining their physical condition, given the extreme weather conditions in the Holy Land that can affect the smooth running of worship.At the end of the activity, Mayor Adhan handed over pocket money to all JCH in the form of riyal currency.
